Friday Finish

I have forgotten to show this quilt, I wanted to wait and post it on a Friday Finish. This is called a Mock Trip Around the World. I got the pattern here and modified it to suit my desires.

The first picture shows the color the best, it was taken outside and shows the true color.

Fabric Happenings 3/15/15

I thought I had not accomplished much this week, but when I started to write it down, it looks like I accomplished more than I thought. I put the final border on the Trip Around the World quilt, I got the binding sewn on the Amish Diamond quilt and I got a quilt loaded for quilting. I also got the binding for the Jewel quilt sewn together and I hope to get it sewn on soon.

Here are my totals for the week.

Fabric out 1 yards
Fabric in 0
Fabric out ytd: 39.12 yards
Fabric in ytd: 27.5 yards
Total 11.62 yards out

It’s a Finish Design Wall

Well I was hoping to get this finished on Saturday before the bad weather rolled into town so I could get a picture outside in the sunshine. No such luck, but it is done today, thanks to a day off due to inclement weather. The Mock Trip is a flimsy. I am not sure whether I will add borders to the top. The unanimous choice was for the asymmetrical design and I love it! Thanks to everyone who helped me decide on that layout!

I hope the weather is not to bad where you live. We got about 2 inches of sleet with a little freezing rain thrown in for good measure. I have lived in places where that would not shut down a city, but they just don’t have much removal equipment here because it is a once or twice a year event.

Fabric Happenings 2/15/15

Good Morning! I hope all is going well for you and that your weather was (is) not too horrible.

I was hoping to have the Mock Trip made into a flimsy by this time but I have not finished it yet. Part of the reason the Mock Trip is not completed is I decided to make it a little larger. In doing so a little more yardage got use. I hope to show the finished flimsy (without borders) tomorrow on DWM. I have the top half finished I need to get the bottom together and then join the two halves.

Fabric out this week 1.25 yards
Fabric in 0 (yay)
Fabric out ytd: 16.71 yards
Fabric in ytd: 6 yards
Total 10.71 yards out

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! If you are not celebrating, Happy Saturday or as my sister said Happy Single’s Day!

I have a little bit of time for play today. I am trying to get the Mock Trip Around The World into a flimsy today. Here is my progress so far.

Mock Trip

Mock Trip

After finishing the Mock Trip quilt, I am going to pull out the behemoth Time Out quilt and get the backing fixed. I am not looking forward to it because it is so large, bordering on king size. I do not make small quilts when I am making them for our bed. I made one to small and when it is on the bed, someone is always without covers.

Today is our last pretty day for a while according to the weather people. They say that starting tomorrow, we are supposed to get sleet and freezing rain, then maybe some snow. I have already seen jonquils in bloom but that is how it goes in this area, alternating between warm and cold.

Happy Quilting!

Fabric Happenings 2/8/15

Well good morning! It is a fabulous morning this morning. The only thing that would make it better is if the sun were shining instead of it being overcast. It is a balmy 55 degrees and it is not even 8 am. Yesterday I was over at Missy’s house and she had a Jonquil ready to bloom, spring is definitely on its way. That makes a very happy person. Here is a wall hanging I made a year or so ago. Just need some eye candy for the post. This is one of Mary’s patterns.

Stars and Churn Dash Quilt

Stars and Churn Dash Quilt

I do have some fabric going out this week. I cut some more the the mock trip but I am going to have to recalculate that because of the way it was cut. It was cut in 23″ strips to go through my accuquilt cutter and I just want to make sure that I did not over count the outage.

Fabric out this week 5.75 yards

Fabric in 0 (yay)

Fabric out ytd: 15.46 yards

Fabric in ytd: 6 yards

Total 9.46 yards out

The Time Out quilt has made it back on the radar and as soon as I finish making the Mock Trip a flimsy, it is going to be fixed and finished. It is calling my name saying Terry, Terry you need to finish me. I guess it is almost time to listen 🙂

I Am So Bad Design Wall

While I should be fixing my error in this quilt, I decided to leave it in “time out” just a little longer while I started on this quilt. I love the colors in this quilt! Here is what my design wall looks like right now. The colors are not very true because this picture was taken at night.

I did another colorway of this quilt and I like those colors too. I am so schizophrenic when it comes to fabric, I like all of them. It does not matter if they are brights, muted colors or batiks they all make me a happy person. I guess that is why I have such a large stash. My mother opened my stash closet and exclaimed “Oh Terry, you will never use all of this fabric!” I sure am going to have fun trying!

I am joining Design Wall Monday over at patchworktimes.

Have a quilty day!
