Progress Last Week

I make some progress last week on my quilt along with my stitching, so it was a win/win week for me. At the beginning of the week I had five blocks completed on the En Provence Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter. By Sunday night, I had five more blocks finished so that leaves me with six blocks left to stitch and a whole bunch of sashing strips. I also have the feeling that I will have to make more blocks before I am finished with this top.

I have enough of the sashing finished to be able to lay it out and get a glimpse of how the quilt is going to look when it is finished and I think I am going to like it. I hope the borders temper the purple some, and I think it will since it is all neutrals.

Stash and Slow Stitching Sunday

I have spent the week working on the En Provence mystery quilt and I have enough parts to start putting the pieces together, but I am trying to get all of my parts completed so I can put up the fabric. I am closer than I was a couple of weeks ago, I have most of the halves of the quarter square triangles made 🙂

In addition to working on En Provence, I have been working on squaring and sewing bindings onto some of the quilts that I got quilted over my Christmas break. I ended up quilting 9 quilts and giving 2 to Missy for her to quilt. I have 10 ready for binding and I finished the binding on 1 and part of another.I have squared 5 of the 9 quilts and should be able to get those completed in the next couple of days. I am no longer caught up with my quilting, I received one from a member of Quilts of Love that is ready for quilting. I need to go ahead and get a backing found and get it loaded.

On to the stash report:

Fabric out last two weeks 5.33
Fabric in 0 yards
Fabric out ytd: 13.59 yards
Fabric in ytd: 0 yards
Total 13.59 yards out

I started working again on a cross-stitch pattern that I started years ago, I used to cross-stitch a lot before I started quilting. When I first started, I had just a small line of the white completed when I picked it up again, here is where I am now. I am making the picture on the cover of the book.

I am working on this in the evenings while watching tv and sitting with an ice pack on my hip. I have bursitis and it has reared its nasty head and I am trying to head it off at the pass.

Stash Report 1-8-17

Good morning, I hope everyone has had a good start to their new year. Mine started out with a good amount of stash usage because I was finishing up several quilts while trying to continue reach my goal of quilting 10 quilts. I did not meet the goal of 10 by the time my Christmas Break was over, but I am still working to get that goal met. I am going to take two quilts over to Missy for her to finish, so that will relieve me of having to do those two.

I got the borders on the Fourth of July quilt and it ready for binding. I am about to have a binding party because I will have many that need binding after finishing quilting of those 10 quilts. I also made progress on the En Provence mystery quilt, but I still have a long ways to go before I am ready to start putting it together into blocks.

Fabric out week 8.26

Fabric out ytd: 8.26 yards
Fabric in ytd: 0 yards

UFO Update 1-4-17

Well sadly, my Christmas break is coming to an end, I go back to work tomorrow. Looking back at what I wanted to get accomplished quilt-wise, I did not do to bad considering it was Christmas and I took a few days and went on a trip with my DH.

This was taken off of the quilt machine, it is around 40 by 50

And this was added to the quilt machine it is around 60 by 70

I did not quite get it finished but it was close. This was the sixth quilt that I worked on getting quilted over the break. I did not get any binding completed, but will work on binding this one once it comes off of the machine.

What’s Up Monday

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you had a great holiday season! I have been working on my list of items that I wanted to complete before I went back to work. Those days are quickly going away and I probably will not get much more of the list done, but I am going to keep working until I start back to work.

I have some blocks ready to send to Dar

I have the Fourth of July quilt ready for borders then quilting.

I have managed to quilt 4 quilts, waiting on 4th of July. Not the best of prioritizing the quilting, but that is okay, there is a recipient for this quilt so I need to get it finished. I have not caught up on the mystery, I have not even started the quarter square triangles yet. I will continue working on this, but it will probably progress slowly. I need to get some quilts cut out for Quilts Of Love and bind quilts, but overall I have made good progress.

Happy New Year and Stash Report

I hope everyone had a great start to the new year last night. We did something we have not done in a while, we actually stayed up. We started out by playing games with our DS, until he called it quits and went home. Then we stayed up and watched TV, it was rainy and foggy and we are boring, what can I say 🙂

I managed to use a little fabric over the last two weeks, but I also did some shopping. I think I did enough shopping to mitigate all of the usage that I have had this year. I filled some holes of things that I was short on and stocked up on more neutrals.

Here are my acquisitions. I did not need blues, but some always seem to come home with me.

And here is the final accounting for the last two weeks. I am closing out this year with the purchase I made on Friday since I start on Sunday and end on Saturday. The fabrics at the bottom of the picture came from Whittles Fabrics. We made a stop there on Friday while we were passing through the area. Just some information if you planning on going there, they take cash and checks, no debit cards. I did not do as much damage as I could have because I did not have a whole lot of cash on hand. Thank goodness for small favors, lol! I am linking with Patchworktimes.

Fabric out week 5.585 yards (2 weeks)
Fabric in 31 yards (2 weeks)
Fabric out ytd: 82.091 yards
Fabric in ytd: 82.07 yards
Total  .021 yards out

That is what I call just barely staying in the positive.

I hope you have a quilty New Year!

UFO Update 12/28/16

It is that time of the week again when I come clean about how much work I got done on my UFO. Since I was off this week, I made some progress. I managed to get all of the blocks for the Fourth of July quilt finished, found here.

I also made some good progress on the goals that I set for myself to get completed during my time off. It won’t be long before I have to dig down and find another UFO to work on. I think I have finished all of my Bonnie Hunter tops that have been started, time to more on to something else, maybe Moonglow. That is it for me today, go see the other UFO’s being worked on over at Jo’s Country Junction.

Happy New Year’s and Happy Quilting!
