There is a binding blitz going on over at JulieK’s, you should go check out what is being finished over there! I got my Island Chain quilt finished and I am happy to have one crossed off of my list of quilts that need finishing.
Finished Island Chain
I should have had a lot more quilts finished for this binding blitz, after all I had three months, but alas, I just have this one. I have several quilts quilted and bindings made for them but my DH decided to help me get ready for our move. In that process, he packed my package containing the binding strips. I should have taken the last couple of months and gotten the binding attached to the quilt, they could not have been separated if I had done so 🙂
I hope you are having a good week, for me today is hump day!
Blue Double 4 Patch
This quilt was also finished in June for Quilts of Love, but never linked up with JulieK’s Binding Blitz. I machine stitched the binding on this quilt also using a different stitch and it did not appear to be as wavy as the dinosaur quilt.
This quilt went to a lovely couple for their many years of service in the mission field. Every time either of them saw me, they had to let me know that the quilt was being used on his bed and was very much loved. A few weeks after receiving the quilt, the couple let everyone know that the the husband had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Here is a picture of them all wrapped up in the quilt when they received the quilt.
My Sweet Friends
I hope you have a Blessed and quilty weekend.
It has been a couple of months since I posted a quilt for the Binding Blitz. Life got busy, busy and my finishes has suffered. This quilt was finished in June but never got added to the Binding Blitz linkup. I sewed on the binding by machine and it has a little bit of a wavy border. I think it was caused by me pulling on the quilt trying to keep the binding pulled over the stitching line where the binding was sewn to the quilt. This quilt was made through Quilts Of Love and has been given to a family with a newborn in the hospital experiencing some difficulties. God willing, he will survive and grow up to be big and strong.
I am linking up with JulieK’s Binding Blitz. There are some awesome finishes there so be sure to check them all out.
Have a Blessed day!
You can tell you have had too much rain in a short time when you backyard visitors are water fowl. The other day, I showed this picture which I believe to be a Green Heroin.
Today I came home and this is what I have in my back yard.
We have Canadian Geese around at times but they usually do not bother to stop in our yard. I believe most of the Geese have already migrated north but a few usually stick around the area. We counted nine of them out there in our yard.
I am still plugging along on my Island Chain and will show an update on Monday, but I just realized that we are coming up on the end of the month and I do not have the quilting finished on my quilt so I can bind for the binding blitz over at JulieK’s. I think that I will have to look to see if I have one ready for binding.
It’s a finish! I took a picture of this quilt a week ago and I almost forgot to post the picture. I guess better late than never. I actually got a picture outside in the sunshine with DH and DS holding the quilt so I could get it all in the picture. Usually I have to hang the quilt over the rail to get a picture.
Jewels Quilt Completed
I am going to link this up with Julie’s binding blitz at the end of the month. You can find her blog here.
I hope you are having a quilty day. I am getting ready for some friends to come over and get a quilt on and off of the frames.
I think this pattern is called Amish Diamonds, I finished it today at about 5:30. I was happy to get it finished and to get a really old UFO off of my list. It is going to a lady who is suffering from Alzheimer’s.
Amish Diamonds Finished
It was another beautiful day and I was able to take the picture outside. I am joining JulieKQuilts for her binding blitz. I have managed to squeak under the line the past two months, but I have managed to get a quilt a month finished since the binding blitz started. I have the binding sewn on another quilt and need to get cracking on it since it is king size and will take me a little while.
I hope you are having a quilty week!
I finally got the binding finished on the Green Double 4 Patch. I worked until 2 AM working on the binding because I could not sleep. Here she is in all of her beauty. I am joining Julie’s Binding Blitz.
Completed Double 4 Patch
I also spent some time cutting out more pieces for the Leap Frog quilt, and I got the process rolling of getting those into blocks. I will show the finished blocks (I hope) on Design Wall Monday.
