I have forgotten to show this quilt, I wanted to wait and post it on a Friday Finish. This is called a Mock Trip Around the World. I got the pattern here and modified it to suit my desires.
The first picture shows the color the best, it was taken outside and shows the true color.

Some more progress has been made on Cathedral Stars, a free pattern by Bonnie Hunter. I managed to get 10 more blocks done between Saturday and Monday. I stopped on Monday and made some blocks for the QOV block drive going on. Here is where I got to when I stopped. I see that I turned a block wrong, but this was just for picture taking purposes.
And here are a couple more of the fun novelty pieces that have made their way into the quilt.
I know how to rotate a picture, but for the life of me, I can’t remember right now.
Orange slices, eggs and lobster print, what a combination! LOL
Go see what Jo and the others are working on over at Jo’s Country Junction. I hope you have a great rest of your week!
I began working on some QOV blocks and this is what is on my design table today. I got some half square triangles made and I am in the process of cutting the strips and then it should be a quick sew. I am sending these to Dar at Dar’s Patchwork Garden. I think while I am at it, I will make some more and send to Alycia at Alycia Quilts. If you have some free time and want a quick quilt fix, hop over to one of these two sites and make them some blocks.

I hope you are having a quilty week!
For the last couple of weeks I have been working on a Bonnie Hunter design called Cathedral Stars. I started out with four blocks completed and I have been slowly adding to the pile. I want to give a big shout out to Jo over at Jo’s Country Junction, because without her encouragement, this quilt might still be in a box waiting for inspiration. With Jo’s encouragement (she doesn’t know how much she pushed me :)), I pulled this out and the blocks are coming together. Here are the blocks that I made last night, I managed to get three completed and took a snapshot of a couple of fun novelty blocks.
Some fun blocks
I hope you have a great rest of the week and get in some sewing time. I am linking up with Jo’s Country Junction for her Bonnie Hunter quilt completion challenge.
Blocks are slowly coming together for Cathedral Stars. Maybe in another week or so, the blocks will be ready to go together. I am looking forward for this quilt becoming a flimsy, it has been so long in the making, well actually sitting in the closet. I think that I have added five additional star blocks. You can see pieces of some black and white fabrics that were also used in my Easy Street Mystery quilt. I think that it is fun to be able to look back and see where you have used the fabric in other quilts. Here are the blocks I have made this past week added to the other blocks.
I have been trying to hang with Kate who keeps up with how many days that she gets in sewing at least 15 minutes a day. I forget to post my progress most of the time, but last week I had 6 out of 7 days with 15 minutes or more of stitching time. It really adds up, so If you are trying to make better use of your time, you might want to stitch along with Kate also.

Well I thought this week there would be no slow stitching, but in the late hours last night I got a binding cut and sewn onto the first Batik Wave quilt. I will be working on that after getting home from church this afternoon.
Ready to start binding
After too much shopping, a load of laundry and too little house cleaning, I got some more blocks of my cathedral stars finished. I think that brings me up to 10 of each block. I need 36 star blocks and 25 of the ladder blocks to make it the size that is in the pattern.
Here is my stash report
Fabric out 0.486 yards
Fabric in 0 yards
Fabric out ytd: 56.346 yards
Fabric in ytd: 51.07 yards
Total 5.276 yards out
I hope you have a quilty week!

Well it has been a few days since my last post. To say that it has been hectic around here would be an understatement, but it is slowing down again. (I think) Last week I was furiously trying to get a quilt finished so I could get it off of the machine because I had someone coming Saturday and I was going to help her quilt her quilt. It was a half day job getting that done because it takes longer when you are trying to teach someone, but we got her quilt done and hopefully she loves it.
I did manage to get a few more star blocks sewn together on the Cathedral Stars quilt and here is a quick view of them.
I also managed to get the Batik Wave quilt to the point to where I could label it and get it up off of the floor. I will be sewing it as my leader/ender project while putting together the Cathedral Star quilt. Although I might use another Bonnie quilt so I will have another chance at winning the prize from Jo 🙂
We are having Revival at church this week and we had a church wide potluck on Sunday and our Sunday School class cooked on Tuesday (last night, feels like today should be Friday) night. The preacher has been challenging us to step outside of our comfort zone and examine ourselves and our service.
See Jo’s Country Junction for more Bonnie Hunter quilts in the process of being finished.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you have a great rest of your week.
