My Fabric Cutting Session

Saturday I spent a portion of my day cutting fabrics, you can see the 30’s fabric on my Design Wall Monday post. Along with the 30’s fabrics, I cut these batiks for a couple of new quilts. One of the quilts that I am cutting the batiks for is called Island Chains by Kim Brackett and can be found in this book. I need to see if I have a cream fabric in my stash that will look good with my batiks, if not, I will have to see if I can find some online.

I am also cutting for this pattern called Paradise Batik Wave by Cara Wilson. This is a free pattern that also uses 2.5″ strips so I am cutting for both while I have the fabric out. This pattern might let me make use of some leftover 4 patches that I already have made. I have a little less than half of the amount of fabric cut that I need for Island Chain so there is more cutting in my future.

I hope you have a quilty day!

I would love to hear from you!
